Tennessee Massage Therapy
Continuing Education Requirements
Massage therapy license requirements vary from state to state, and the laws are constantly changing. It's our current understanding that, in Tennessee, 25 massage therapy continuing education credits are required every 2 years for professional license renewal. Of the 25 total hours, 2 hours must be in Tennessee statues and rules, and 2 hours would need to be in practice management, ethics or substance abuse.
It is also our understanding that the Tenessee Board of Massage will accept our programs to fulfill these 25 hours of continuing education because the Institute for Integrative Healthcare Studies is approved by the NCBTMB as a continuing education Approved Provider (#049478-00).
If you would like to verify this information, or have further questions regarding your requirements, we suggest contacting the Tennessee Board of Massage directly. The telephone number for the Tennessee Board is 800-778-4123 or visit their website at http://health.state.tn.us.
Remember, the Institute for Integrative Healthcare Studies is approved by the NCBTMB as a continuing education Approved Provider (#049478-00). All of our continuing education programs can be used for your National Certification renewal, with the exception of Nerve Mobilization.
You may also use our credits for other organizations you belong to such as the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) or Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP).
